Health & Safety
Health & Safety Representatives
The Police Federation is committed to ensuring a safe working environment for its members.
In order to achieve this it has appointed Health & Safety Representatives who have been trained to enable them to carry out this function.
Health & Safety Representatives have statutory rights to represent employees in consultations with employers on Health & Safety matters, to carry out Safety Inspections and investigate potential hazards and occurrences in the workplace.
Representatives are also empowered to investigate complaints, make representations to management and attend all meetings of Safety Committees.
It is important that staff complete the Form R3a when injured at work or when a “near miss” has occurred so that the matter can be logged and if required be investigated.
